What to expect during your ear pinning surgery
Otoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure that provides immediate results and typically requires only about a week for recovery before returning to work or school. You or your child undergoing surgery will need to avoid NSAIDs (aspirin, Advil® or ibuprofen, or Aleve®) for 10 days before surgery.
Surgery will take roughly one hour, after which Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini will provide a soft, velcro headband to be worn day and night over the ears for the initial week of recovery. We also recommend continuing to wear this headband for the following couple weeks while sleeping to provide support for the tissues to fully heal. Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini will provide you with her personal cell number in case any questions or concerns arise during your recovery.
